What to Expect Tesla is looking for a highly motivated Document Control Specialist. This position's primary responsibility is to work with the Program Management Office (PMO) Manager to help support the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) group at the Tesla Fremont Factory in Fremont, California.

As part of the EPC group, this team is focused on designing, collaborating, and building the first home of Optimus while continue to support critical vehicle programs.

This position will support the design, planning, and execution of company infrastructure by providing the team with the necessary information to ensure successful document management.

Role would support project processes and documentation from the design phase to project close out.

The successful candidate will support daily management and maintenance of the document control system across all programs, implement and improve change management processes for documents, create and maintain documentation standards, report on documentation statistics, and provide trainings to internal and external team members on the system and processes.

What You’ll Do

Operate as a central contact for all document control issues, support, and ongoing management of the system, working with the internal design and construction team, and external vendors

Process critical documents and deliverables including, but not limited to: submittals, designs, drawings, calculations and other engineering or construction documents

Create workflows and manage approval of project documents to ensure compliance with the Tesla document management system

Publish daily or weekly reports and logs identifying open workflows, mail items, submittals, and other documents requiring action

Work with sub-contractors and suppliers during contract closeout to ensure all project documents are received prior to releasing retention payments

Provide training to project resources as part of the on-boarding process, both in person and virtual sessions

Improve document control procedures to best fit Tesla’s Fremont Factory design and construction needs

What You’ll Bring

Degree in Engineering, Construction or equivalent experience

Min. 3-5 years of relevant experience in design and construction projects document control

Advanced MS Excel skills, proficiency in Microsoft office suite, and Aconex/Procore

Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills

Demonstrated problem solving ability in cross-functional environment

Innovative, Open-minded, collaborative, and a team-oriented attitude

Strong work ethic; ability to work long hours, evenings and weekends as needed by the projects

Expected Compensation $68,000 - $114,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
