Senior Counsel- Estate Administration Attorney

Base pay range: $150,000.00/yr - $220,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the administration of estates of varying size and complexity, including probate and Surrogate’s Court proceedings.
Advise fiduciaries, beneficiaries, and high-net-worth individuals on all aspects of estate administration, trust administration, and related tax matters.
Draft, review, and interpret estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related instruments.
Oversee estate and trust accountings, tax filings, and compliance obligations.
Manage client relationships with a high degree of professionalism, responsiveness, and discretion.
Mentor junior attorneys and collaborate with cross-functional teams within the firm.
Participate in business development initiatives, client outreach, and long-term practice expansion.
Maintain an active presence in the local legal community and related professional associations.
Qualifications:
J.D. from an accredited law school.
Admission to the New York State Bar in good standing.
8+ years of experience in estate administration, trusts and estates law, or related practice areas.
Portable book of business preferred but not required (depending on firm’s structure).
Strong knowledge of New York Surrogate’s Court procedures and applicable tax laws.
Proven track record of client management, leadership, and strategic thinking.
Exceptional communication, drafting, and analytical skills.
