Join our team and experience the support, flexibility, and benefits that help you thrive both professionally and personally.What you will have an opportunity to do:The **Director of Finance** is a strategic and hands-on financial leader responsible for overseeing all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls for The Midland Hotel. This role partners closely with the General Manager, ownership, and corporate leadership to drive financial performance, ensure compliance, and support long-term asset value in a dynamic Chicago market.The ideal candidate is a proactive business partner with strong hotel finance experience, a deep understanding of urban hotel operations, and the ability to balance strategic oversight with day-to-day execution.* Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, providing financial insight to support operational and strategic decision-making* Act as the primary financial liaison to ownership, asset management, lenders, and corporate partners* Analyze financial results and trends, proactively identifying risks and opportunities* Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management* Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with GAAP* Prepare financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports for internal and external stakeholders* Lead the annual budgeting and reforecasting processes, partnering with department leaders to ensure accountability* Maintain strong internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance with company policies and procedures* Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure integrity of financial data* Manage cash flow, working capital, banking relationships, and credit facilities* Oversee capital planning and return-on-investment analysis* Support long-term asset strategy and value creation initiatives* Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including Illinois-specific labor and tax requirements* Oversee external audits, tax filings, and statutory reporting* Manage insurance programs, risk mitigation strategies, and contract reviews* Lead, mentor, and develop the hotel accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and collaboration* Ensure proper training, succession planning, and performance management within the finance department* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)* Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive hotel finance leadership experience, preferably in a full-service or lifestyle hotel* Strong understanding of hotel systems (PMS, POS, and accounting platforms such as M3, PeopleSoft, Workday, or similar)* Experience working in an urban market; Chicago experience and/or union exposure strongly preferred* Proven ability to partner with operations and ownership in a fast-paced environment* Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills**Compensation:**$135,000-$145,000Pyramid Global Hospitality is an equal opportunity employer.
