Role Summary
Senior Manager, Global Clinical Logistics is a key role supporting the development and execution of the logistics strategy for investigational medicinal products (IMPs) that support critical clinical trials. The position provides the opportunity to lead complex, high‑impact initiatives, ensure compliance with international regulatory standards, and drive operational excellence across a global network.
Job Responsibilities
Support the development and execution of the logistics strategy for investigational medicinal products (IMPs), ensuring strict compliance with GDP and international regulations.
Drive innovation by introducing best practices and new concepts to optimize logistics operations and boost efficiency through the deployment of global standard services.
Continuously improve operational methods and procedures to streamline processes and elevate performance.
Manage outsourced distribution for clinical Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) and Drug Products (DP), ensuring seamless execution in partnership with Gilead’s external partners.
Maintain precise documentation and reporting to demonstrate operational effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
Source, evaluate, and onboard contractors, services, and suppliers essential to logistics operations.
Track market trends to sustain a competitive and dependable vendor network.
Collaborate with cross‑functional managers and external partners to ensure integrated global operations.
Train and mentor team members, fostering collaboration to achieve shared organizational goals.
Ensure full compliance with global regulatory standards across all logistics activities.
Prepare for and support audits and inspections, maintaining readiness and adherence to quality benchmarks.
Resolve complex challenges using sound judgment and data‑driven decision‑making.
Design and implement work processes and evaluation criteria to maximize operational outcomes.
Apply advanced logistics expertise to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Champion a culture of innovation, leading initiatives that enhance logistics capabilities and performance.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of progressively responsible experience preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
Master's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrates ingenuity and innovation in developing solutions to moderately complex problems.
Excels in negotiation, with outstanding verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
Possesses strong organizational and time‑management abilities, with a proven track record of managing multiple priorities in fast‑paced environments.
Holds working knowledge of GMP, GDP, temperature‑controlled shipments, cold‑chain integrity, and global regulations to ensure compliance in all logistics activities.
Effectively interacts with senior management, thrives in a matrix environment, and leads cross‑functional initiatives.
Maintains a strong commitment to accuracy, documentation integrity, and adherence to GDP standards.
Salary Salary range: $157,590.00 – $203,940.00. Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location. Additional benefits may include discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock‑based long‑term incentives, paid time off, and a benefits package.
