Insurance Coverage Litigation Counsel

Our client, a leading international law firm with a highly regarded insurance coverage and litigation practice, is seeking an Insurance Coverage Litigation Attorney (7+ years) to join its growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated, high-stakes matters for major national and international insurers across the United States. The practice handles complex insurance coverage disputes, including pollution, toxic tort, asbestos, construction defect, products liability, E&O, and excess liability. The role is available in Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Miami, Morristown or fully remote.

Base pay range: $210,000.00/yr - $240,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

Develop litigation strategies for insurance coverage business disputes and class actions

Conduct complex legal research and analysis; draft memoranda and recommendations

Analyze insurance policies and claims; draft coverage analyses and provide strategic advice

Take and defend depositions

Draft motions, pleadings, briefs, discovery requests, interrogatories, and other litigation documents

Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement discussions

Supervise and mentor associates and paralegals

Collaborate closely with partners and clients to ensure effective case management

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials

Admission to practice in New York; dual admission in New York and New Jersey preferred

7–12 years of insurance coverage litigation experience

Excellent writing, research, and analytical abilities

Strong professional judgment and attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple, time-sensitive matters simultaneously

Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills

Hybrid Work Flexibility

Salary Range: $210,000 – $240,000, commensurate with experience
