Senior Software Engineer, Visualizations – Weights & Biases
CoreWeave, the AI Hyperscaler™, acquired Weights & Biases to create the most powerful end‑to‑end platform to develop, deploy, and iterate AI faster. Since 2017, CoreWeave has operated a growing footprint of data centers across the US and Europe, and was ranked as one of the TIME100 most influential companies of 2024. By bringing together CoreWeave’s industry‑leading cloud infrastructure with the best‑in‑class tools AI practitioners know and love from Weights & Biases, we’re setting a new standard for how AI is built, trained, and scaled.
The integration of our teams and technologies is accelerating our shared mission: to empower developers with the tools and infrastructure they need to push the boundaries of what AI can do. From experiment tracking and model optimization to high‑performance training clusters, agent building, and inference at scale, we’re combining forces to serve the full AI lifecycle — all in one seamless platform.
Weights & Biases has long been trusted by over 1,500 organizations — including AstraZeneca, Canva, Cohere, OpenAI, Meta, Snowflake, Square, Toyota, and Wayve — to build better models, AI agents and applications. Now, as part of CoreWeave, that impact is amplified across a broader ecosystem of AI innovators, researchers, and enterprises.
What You’ll Do Reporting to the Engineering Manager for Visualizations, you will help shape how machine learning practitioners analyze and understand their models. The team builds core visualizations such as line plots, scatter plots, and media viewers that thousands of researchers and engineers rely on every day. We are focused on helping users see how inputs affect model performance, compare outputs across models, and scale performance so they can analyze more models at once.
You will primarily focus on creating intuitive, high‑performance frontend experiences, while also working across the stack to deliver end‑to‑end features. This is an opportunity to make a visible impact on one of the most widely used MLOps platforms in the world.
Responsibilities
Contribute to visualization features by implementing frontend components that power interactive charts, media viewers, and other tools used to view data in W&B.
Write clean, testable and reusable code, participate in code reviews and learn best practices from experienced teammates.
Help diagnose and fix issues in rendering large quantities of logged data.
Participate in code reviews, team discussions, and sprint planning to grow your skills and contribute to team goals.
Focus on our end users and listen to customer feedback in order to deliver value.
Who You Are
3‑5 years of experience building and maintaining user‑facing web applications; exposure to data visualization or time‑series data is a plus.
Familiarity with modern web development tools and frameworks, such as React, TypeScript, GraphQL.
Solid understanding of programming fundamentals and experience with at least one modern language (Go, Python, C++, Java, Javascript).
Enthusiasm for learning how to build reliable, high‑quality software through hands‑on experience, mentorship, and feedback.
Curiosity and persistence in understanding ambiguous problems and exploring potential solutions with a tendency toward action.
Ability to work with product and customer‑facing teams to translate user feedback into technical solutions.
Interest in the AI/ML space and motivation to grow in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment.
Preferred
Experience building highly performant front‑end applications and handling large quantities of data efficiently.
Wondering if you’re a good fit? We believe in investing in our people, and value candidates who can bring their own diversified experiences to our teams – even if you aren’t a 100% skill or experience match. If some of this describes you, we’d love to talk.
You love building highly responsive and performant user interfaces.
You’re curious about how AI researchers measure their models, and how they investigate performance in depth.
Why Us? We work hard, have fun, and move fast! We’re in an exciting stage of hyper‑growth that you will not want to miss out on. We’re not afraid of a little chaos, and we’re constantly learning. Our team cares deeply about how we build our product and how we work together, which is represented through our core values:
