A Typical Day We're looking for an
Enterprise Lead Data Modeler
to guide the design and governance of our unified enterprise data model. In this senior role, you act as the primary subject matter expert (SME) in the Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization (MISMO) and shape our data architecture to serve as the single source of truth for critical data across the company.
Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end design and extension of MISMO‑compliant JSON schemas and guide their translation into an optimal relational data model.
Provide architectural leadership on data modeling best practices, ensuring the unified data model supports data exchange and establishes clear data contracts.
Manage the technical implementation of the data model, including JSON schema definitions and automated documentation, and build systems for versioning and compatibility.
Act as the organization’s primary SME for MISMO standards, guiding the team on best practices and keeping the model the authoritative source of truth for mortgage‑related data.
Partner with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to align the data model with strategic business goals and enforce data quality standards.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including data dictionaries and schema definitions, and mentor other data professionals.
Qualifications
Proven experience in enterprise data modeling and database design; experience leading the implementation of a unified or canonical data model is required.
Deep hands‑on expertise with MISMO standards, logical data models, and XML/JSON schema structures; mortgage industry knowledge is a must.
Proficiency with data modeling tools and concepts, JSON, SQL, and data architecture principles; scripting experience with Python or JavaScript/TypeScript is necessary.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills; ability to translate complex technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
