Job Title: Aquatics Director
Department: Aquatics
Reports To: Clubhouse Manager
Supervises: Lifeguards, Swim Coaches, Seasonal Aquatics Staff

Job Function The Seasonal Aquatics Director is responsible for creating an exceptional and safe pool experience for Mira Vista Country Club members and their families. This leadership role oversees all lifeguard hiring, training, certification, scheduling, and ongoing in‑service development. The position manages youth swim team operations—including scheduling, staffing, and executing both home and away meets—as well as seasonal swim coaches. The Aquatics Director also develops and leads engaging family‑friendly aquatics programming, coordinates morning aqua aerobics classes, and ensures compliance with all health, safety, and Red Cross training standards. This position works in close partnership with the Pool F&B Supervisor and reports directly to the Clubhouse Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities

Conduct yourself in a manner that represents all of the MVCC core values.
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and schedule all seasonal lifeguard staff.
Conduct all required Red Cross certification classes and in‑service trainings; maintain all guard certifications and training documentation.
Oversee daily pool operations, with a strong focus on safety, cleanliness, and member satisfaction.
Organize, staff, and manage the Mira Vista youth swim team program including:
Coordinating tryouts and season communication
Hiring and scheduling swim coaches
Planning and executing home and away swim meets
Develop and implement family‑friendly aquatics programming such as theme days, pool parties, games, and seasonal events.
Organize and lead morning aqua aerobics classes or ensure qualified instructors are scheduled.
Collaborate daily with the Pool F&B Supervisor to ensure seamless member experience across all aquatics and food & beverage operations.
Manage inventory of pool safety equipment and supplies.
Create weekly schedules, track staffing performance, and maintain payroll accuracy.
Respond promptly and professionally to member inquiries or concerns.
Ensure compliance with all state, local, and Red Cross aquatics and safety regulations in conjunction with Mira Vista Human Resources Department.

Ability to manage multiple seasonal programs simultaneously.
Proficiency in planning, organizing, and executing events and sporting activities.
Ability to teach, coach, and mentor young staff.
Strong understanding of aquatics safety standards and emergency procedures.
Comfortable working collaboratively with multiple departments

Equipment: Lifeguard and safety equipment, two‑way radio, scheduling software, teaching and training equipment, basic pool maintenance tools, pool chemicals.
Education & Experience
Previous experience managing aquatics operations, swim programs, or lifeguard teams required.
Experience leading children’s recreational programming and/or swim instruction.
Experience managing seasonal staff or sports programs in a hospitality or club setting is a plus.
Licenses & Other Requirements
Current Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification (required).
CPR/First Aid/AED certification (required).
Ability to certify and recertify lifeguard staff.
Youth Protection Training (training provided by employer)
