Supplier Quality Engineer III – Chicago, IL

Base pay range $103,510 – $137,121.60 per year
Hours
8:00 am – 5:00 pm (Mon‑Fri) – Hybrid
Compensation We offer a competitive base salary in the range of $103,510–$137,121.60, plus eligibility for an annual incentive plan. Pay is determined by performance, experience, and other factors.
Key Responsibilities
Explore, develop, and champion new or emerging technologies required to meet the evolving needs of protection and control equipment used in the power distribution industry.
Develop innovative electronic products, sensors and techniques that enable complex, intelligent grid solutions.
Prepare design specifications, hardware test plans, and design documentation.
Design, simulate and troubleshoot digital, analog, mixed‑signal circuits.
Program, test and debug embedded systems that may include FPGAs, CPUs, DSPs, and peripherals; and analog circuits for high‑precision signal conditioning and processing.
Conduct DFMEA and worst‑case analyses, including extreme value analysis (EVA) and Root Sum Squares (RSS) analysis.
Provide guidance and mentoring to lower‑level professionals, including student interns.
Occasionally travel up to one week.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
BS degree in Electrical/Electronic or Computer Science/Engineering required; MS/PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering a plus.
Minimum of 5 years hands‑on experience with analog, digital, mixed‑signal circuits.
Experience with high‑speed circuit board design with digital and mixed‑signal circuitry.
Modeling and simulation of power and signal integrity of high‑speed digital signals is a plus.
Experience with embedded systems, including ARM processors, is desirable.
Experience with high‑precision analog circuits used for signal conditioning and processing, including filters, amplifiers, ADC, DAC, and power electronics, is desirable.
Experience in writing C/C++, Verilog/VHDL and Python scripts is desirable.
Proficiency with relevant lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, network analyzers); experience with LabView is a plus.
Proficient in one or more schematic capturing, simulation, and analytical tools such as Orcad, Cadence Capture, ModelSim, PSPICE, Cadence Sigitry and MATLAB.
Motivation and personal organization to achieve high productivity with minimal direct supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
