Overview
We are looking for a
General Education Teacher
to join Hebrew Language Academy in Brooklyn, NY. The role supports students K‑8 in an inclusive, integrated public charter school.
Location & Grades Hebrew Language Academy 2186 Mill Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11234 Grades K‑8
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range:
$62,000‑$92,000 (potential increases based on experience and certification)
Health coverage:
85% employer premium for medical, dental, vision (100% vision covered)
Retirement:
5% employer match, capped at $6,000, no vesting period

Role Summary Deliver engaging, standards‑based instruction using Responsive Classroom strategies, monitor student progress, and collaborate with colleagues to refine practice.
Responsibilities
Maintain high academic standards for all students, believing in their ability to learn.
Develop quality Common Core aligned lesson plans.
Use student assessment data to inform curriculum and instruction.
Maximize learning time with effective classroom management.
Create an inviting learning environment with varied techniques for diverse learners.
Demonstrate deep mastery of instructional subject area.
Show growth in student achievement from prior teaching roles.
Collaborate with peers and instructional leaders for curricular coherence.
Engage families through intentional relationship building.
Maintain energy, enthusiasm, and a solutions‑oriented mindset.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (Master’s preferred).
Experience teaching K‑12 in classrooms (urban, public charter, or Title I preferred).
NY teacher certification or working toward certification (plus).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Legally authorized to work in the USA.
