Job Summary:

The Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology & Emory University invites applications from exceptional senior candidates working in the area of neuroengineering, broadly defined. The successful candidate will be named the Georgia Research Alliance (GRA) Eminent Scholar in Neuroengineering, an endowed position specific to the Georgia Tech campus. GRA eminent scholars are expected to engage in or contribute to translational and/or economic development efforts in their field. Appointment is at the rank of full professor with tenure. The department seeks a visionary scholar‑educator and proven leader in high‑impact and emerging areas of importance to human health and biomedicine, with a particular focus on neuroengineering and neuroscience, including machine learning and AI approaches with translational potential.

Responsibilities

Interact with a vibrant and rapidly growing multidisciplinary community across Georgia Tech, Emory, and greater Atlanta, including the Georgia Tech/Emory Neural Engineering Center, the GT Institute for Neuroscience, Neurotechnology, and Society (INNS), the McCamish Parkinson’s Disease Innovation Program, and clinical departments such as Emory Rehabilitation and Neurology.

Required Qualifications

A PhD in engineering or related field (required by the start of appointment).

Ability to teach and mentor a diverse student body.

Ability to promote a welcoming educational/work environment.

Ability to mentor and assist students pursuing graduate education.

Ability to engage students in experiential learning activities and pedagogies that support student success.

Ability to engage in high‑impact practices that support deep learning for student success.
