HIV/Viral Hepatitis Prevention Education Specialist
The National Clinician Consultation Center (NCCC) HIV/Viral Hepatitis Prevention Education Specialist will provide clinical education to NCCC's external users and learners via teleconsultation services and public-facing resources.
The incumbent will use clinical training and relevant practice experience in HIV and viral hepatitis prevention and care to educate clinicians nationwide on topics such as HIV/viral hepatitis transmission prevention, bloodborne pathogen exposure evaluation and management, and post‑exposure prophylaxis initiation.
The specialist will also perform administrative and operational duties, including collecting and documenting education activity data for reporting, preparing materials for callers, participating in quality improvement meetings, and assisting with regulatory activities to ensure program compliance.
This role also includes educating on best and emerging practices in HIV/viral hepatitis prevention, collaborating with allied professionals for team‑based care, and addressing the impact of systems and policy changes on care delivery for high‑risk populations.
The position requires a warm, non‑judgmental approach and strong interpersonal professionalism to interact with diverse stakeholders.
Currently, NCCC offers services 7 days per week; applicants are needed to help staff NCCC’s weekend PEPline operations only. Salary range: $110,400 – $235,400 (Annual Rate).

NCCC provides rapid, state‑of‑the‑art HIV/AIDS and viral hepatitis education and guidance to health care professionals across the country via toll‑free teleconsultation and online services.
Core clinical education topics include: HIV and viral hepatitis prevention, evaluation, and management, including pre‑exposure and post‑exposure prophylaxis and antiretroviral therapy Substance use evaluation and management, including medications for substance use disorder treatment Required Qualifications
Graduate‑level (Master’s or Doctorate) degree in a health professions training area (e.g., MD/DO, MSN/DNP, Masters in PA studies, PharmD) Minimum 3 years of experience analyzing clinical studies and incorporating new developments into clinical practice or providing guidance to clinical providers Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in HIV/viral hepatitis prevention and care, including HIV screening/testing, post‑exposure prophylaxis initiation and management, antiretroviral drug interactions and toxicity, HBV/HCV transmission prevention, HBV post‑exposure prophylaxis and vaccination, and STI screening and prevention Highly developed interpersonal skills and strong diplomacy skills to build relationships with leadership, subject matter experts, and external agencies Highly developed organizational and project management skills with excellent personal organization Demonstrated competence in clinical practice, communication, clinical case management, leadership, problem identification and resolution, and clinical teaching/training Accurate documentation of encounters in a timely manner Preferred Qualifications
Board certification in Family Medicine, Infectious Diseases, or General Internal Medicine Prior experience preventing and managing complex bloodborne pathogen exposures (e.g., HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C) Experience evaluating complex bloodborne pathogen exposures, including pregnancy/breastfeeding, chronic health conditions, and patients on HIV pre‑exposure prophylaxis Expert knowledge of current and emerging educational technologies and ability to facilitate technology‑based learning opportunities Experience training and educating diverse groups of clinical learners Cross‑functional collaboration with clinical and non‑clinical stakeholders License/Certification
