Responsibilities Exciting opportunity to join the inaugural Ascension Seton OB Hospitalist group in Austin, Texas! As we prepare for the grand opening of our state‑of‑the‑art Women’s Health Tower at Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin—a facility designed to deliver comprehensive patient‑centered care across the spectrum of women’s health—we are establishing a dedicated Obstetric Hospitalist Program. This team will enhance safety, continuity, and patient satisfaction through 24/7 on‑site obstetric coverage at two sites and weekend coverage at a third site.
The Obstetric Hospitalist will provide round‑the‑clock inpatient obstetric care, ensuring immediate availability for labor and delivery triage, emergent obstetric events, and inpatient consultations. The ideal candidate is a board‑certified/board‑eligible OB/GYN who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is committed to delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based care.
Position Highlights
Three site choices – Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin, Ascension Seton Medical Center Williamson (Round Rock, TX), Dell Children’s Medical Center Special Delivery Unit
Flexible scheduling models including 12 or 24‑hour shifts
Full‑time, part‑time or PRN available
Service commitments: Dell Children’s Medical Center – 24/7, 7 days/week; Ascension Seton Medical Center Williamson – Friday 5 pm to Monday 8 am; Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin – 7 pm to 7 am weekdays, Friday 7 pm to Monday 7 am.
Compensation per hour: Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin – $200/hr; Ascension Seton Medical Center Williamson – $180/hr; Dell Children’s Medical Center – $150/hr
Professional liability coverage with tail.
Participation in shaping the culture, workflows, and growth of a new flagship program in women’s health.
Holistic benefits available for full or part‑time
Additional Requirements
Completion of an accredited residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology
Board Certified or Board Eligible by ABOG
Current Texas medical license (or eligibility) and DEA registration by start date
Prior experience as an OB hospitalist or in high‑acuity obstetrics preferred but not required.
