Overview
Mass General Brigham (The General Hospital Corporation) invites applicants to join the Homelessness, Housing & Health Lab in the Division of General Internal Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) will assist with two lines of research: 1) a multiyear study designing and piloting a peer recovery support intervention for opioid use disorder treatment among people experiencing homelessness; and 2) a multiyear mixed-methods study focusing on cancer screening and treatment for people experiencing homelessness. The CRC will interface with stakeholders, including people experiencing homelessness and healthcare clinicians, and will conduct patient-facing and non-patient-facing activities at Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program and MGH.
Job Summary Following established policies, procedures, and study protocols, the CRC provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling study visits; performing clinical tests such as phlebotomy and EKGs; and maintaining and updating data generated by the study. Candidates completing a bachelor’s degree are granted a grace period of six months from their hire date (up to 1 year if starting per diem) to provide degree equivalency verification.
Essential Functions
Reviews proposals for compliance with sponsor and organizational guidelines; verifies all sponsor requirements are met.
Recruits patients for clinical trials and conducts phone interviews.
Verifies the accuracy of study forms and updates them per protocol.
Prepares data for analysis and data entry.
Documents patient visits and procedures.
Assists with regulatory binders and QA/QC procedures.
Assists with interviewing study subjects.
Assists with study regulator submissions.
Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Science (required). Experience in lieu of a degree is accepted. Licenses and Credentials: None specified. Relevant research project experience (0‑1 year preferred).
