General Requirements The candidate must be very proficient in Business Objects XI Administration, SAP Data Services, IBM DB2 database and familiarity with SQL Database. The ideal candidate must be able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously, while working independently of other Application and Software Development subject matter experts. The candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to learn the various software products necessary to perform job assignments, and the ability to interact with all types of office personnel and clients. Additionally, the candidate must understand the Software Development Lifecycle and the supporting software necessary to perform change management.

Ensuring data integrity and availability for business intelligence and analytics.

Core Responsibilities

User and security management:

Manage user accounts, user groups, and permissions. Implement security settings.

Platform and server management:

Install, configure, and maintain the BusinessObjects platform and its applications. Monitor server resources and application availability. Schedule and manage daily report jobs.

System maintenance and support:

Perform system upgrades, apply patches, and conduct backups. Troubleshoot performance issues and provide technical support to business users. Manage BI repository objects like Universes and Connections.

Data and reporting:

Assist with the design and development of business objects and data models. Coordinate with other departments to configure ETL extractors and ensure compliance with best practices. Support the creation and modification of reports.

Experience Requirements Day to Day Activities: The candidate would be responsible for Business Objects Administration, Operations & Maintenance, which will include evaluating product upgrade versions, service packs, and fix packs for impact to applications and evaluating security vulnerability patches’ impact to performance.

Participate in system management process design, development, and support.

Provide support during peak performance periods.

Coordinate with solution architects to design appropriate system architectures.

Identification and resolution of BO program related issues and determine best methods for resolution.

Identification of configuration items, restricting changes to those items, auditing changes made to those items, and defining and managing configurations of those items throughout the software development lifecycle process.

Design input and deployment of crystal reports with database and XML custom data sources.

Validation of converted reports from UNV to UNX format supporting the BO Universe.

Deployment of database objects.

Review Vulnerability Prioritization Ratings (VPR’s), Binding Operational Directives (BODs), and Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE’s) and identify, test the recommended remediations to the Business Objects systems.

Perform Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) monitoring, repair, upgrade, and installation.

Provide SAP Data Services multi developer environment implementation and support.

Provide input to programs using Java SDK and using Eclipse.

Enhance SQL for stored procedures and SQL jobs.

Maintain existing control processes, maintaining the integrity of the application development, and preserving project’s artifacts.

Provide support to development team in resolving and clarifying the system and tool related issues.

Ensuring proper versioning of configuration items is selected for change or implementation.

Definition and enforcement of business object check-in/check-out procedures.

Perform updates and development of Business Objects process documentation.

Provide BO architectural support and recommendations for improvement.

Education Requirements This is a contract‑to‑hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
