About The Role As a CBRE Mobile Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning and environmental integrity of our medical office buildings and a critical healthcare center. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance across multiple sites locally in Santa Cruz and occasionally in San Francisco, mainly focusing on HVAC systems to maintain specific temperature and environmental controls essential for our pharmacy operations. This onsite, multi‑site role requires 100% travel between locations with a company vehicle provided.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function. Responsibilities include providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You’ll Do

Perform comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems, including changing HEPA and other filtration systems, to ensure optimal performance and compliance with critical environmental standards.

Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on all assigned facilities and equipment, documenting all activities thoroughly.

Execute general facility maintenance tasks, including minor electrical repairs (e.g., outlets, light switches) and plumbing work (e.g., unclogging toilets, leak repairs).

Ensure fire life safety compliance through regular inspections of fire extinguishers, exit signs, and related equipment.

Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues efficiently to minimize downtime and disruption.

Maintain open and professional communication with clients, providing excellent customer service.

Oversee maintenance and repairs to mechanical, industrial, plumbing, structural, life safety, and control systems for the facility to keep systems up to applicable standards.

Review assigned work orders, estimate time and materials needed, and maintain an inventory of adequate supplies and tools.

Implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life; oversee repairs and emergency maintenance as needed.

Review inspections of building and industrial systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure equipment operates within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by the client.

Oversee compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.

Operate company‑issued vehicles in the execution of daily work responsibilities.

Apply in‑depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.

Coach others and share in‑depth knowledge of your job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.

Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values, building consensus to reach agreements.

Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your own team and related teams.

Work within broad guidelines and policies.

Explain difficult or sensitive information.

What You’ll Need

High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4–5 years of job‑related experience; a combination of experience and education may be considered. Universal CFC certification and a valid driver’s license are required. Prior shift manager or supervisory experience is preferred.

Meet the physical requirements of the role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lb or more.

Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.

Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.

In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.

Compensation ranges for the Mobile Engineer position are $80,000–$90,000 annually. The offered salary will depend on skills, qualifications, and experience.
