About The Role CBRE’s Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) Local is a hard‑services‑led, tailored facility management solution that partners with best‑in‑class soft service providers. The Building Engineer supports our facility and project management capabilities, focusing on plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling systems to ensure optimal building performance.

What You’ll Do

Perform maintenance and repairs to the mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems; keep facilities up to applicable standards.

Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.

Maintain an energy management program and ensure systems operate efficiently.

Assist with implementing a preventive maintenance program to keep machinery and systems at or above rated life; perform emergency repairs as needed.

Follow departmental policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain a clean and safe workplace.

Review building systems (fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing) to confirm operation within design capabilities and client‑required environmental conditions.

Apply in‑depth knowledge of standard principles and procedures to complete complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.

Coach others, share knowledge of your discipline, and maintain a broad understanding of related disciplines.

Lead by example, model CBRE RISE values, build consensus, and guide teams toward agreement.

Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your team and related teams.

Work within broad guidelines and policies.

Explain difficult or sensitive information clearly.

What You’ll Need

High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4‑5 years of job‑related experience (or equivalent experience and education). Universal CFC certification preferred; additional certifications/licenses may be required by local or state jurisdictions. Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.

Physical ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

Ability to exercise judgment based on analysis of multiple information sources.

Willingness to adopt new perspectives on existing solutions.

In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.

Sophisticated math skills; ability to calculate percentages, fractions, and other financial‑related calculations.

Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
