Engineering Group Seeking an exceptional engineer to join us in our mission to innovate and deliver the most advanced and scalable ADAS software in the industry. This person will play a central role in the evolution of ADAS and high-performance compute platforms with job activities spanning the whole product life cycle from early R&D to commercial deployment. The environment is fast-paced and requires cross-functional interaction daily, so good communication, planning and execution skills are a must.
Responsibilities
Software architecture, design, and development of software for automotive platform in various functional areas of Qualcomm SoCs to meet specified functional, safety, performance, power, and stability requirements.
Collaborate across functional boundaries in defining software architecture, design, SDK, and tools.
Actively engage with customers, OEMs, Tier-1s to implement solutions based on Qualcomm Automotive Platforms.
Working with systems and HW/SW architecture teams to define Qualcomm’s next generation ADAS solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
2+ years of academic or work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
2 to 5 years of experience in automotive domain.
Strong programming experience in C/C++.
Understanding of ARM architecture.
Extensive system software development experience – including BSP, firmware, and device drivers.
Working knowledge of operating systems including QNX, Linux and other RTOSs, as well as hypervisors/virtualization technologies.
Experience with heterogeneous computing platforms consisting of CPUs, GPUs, DSPs, and neural accelerators.
Deep understanding of OS/kernel internals – scheduler, cache/memory handling, interrupt processing, MMU/SMMU, IPCs etc.
Knowledge of ADAS perception or drive policy software stacks.
Knowledge of classic/adaptive AutoSAR and automotive processes like ASPICE, cybersecurity and functional safety.
Expertise in one or more of the following areas is considered an asset: classic/adaptive AutoSAR, camera/radar/lidar, Ethernet, PCIe, CAN, performance profiling and optimization.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Apply software knowledge and experience to design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs.
Analyze user needs and software requirements to design and customize software for optimal operational efficiency.
Design, develop and debug software modules for products and systems.
Participate in the design, coding for large features, unit testing, significant debugging fixes, and integration efforts to ensure projects are completed to specifications and schedules.
Perform code reviews and regression tests as well as triage and fix issues to ensure the quality of code.
Collaborate with others inside project team to accomplish project objectives.
Level of Responsibility
Works under supervision.
Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc.
