The Qualcomm Automotive Team is seeking platform software SME (Subject Matter Expert) to contribute to the development of next-generation automotive solutions. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Leverage technical subject matter expertise to identify customer pain points. Translate customer feedback into actionable project scope. Partner with both internal and external teams in defining or selecting appropriate software solutions. Review and provide support during the detailed design phase, offering recommendations and making decisions regarding software implementation. Oversee requirements and conduct solution reviews for core platform technologies, including bootloaders (XBL/UEFI), Linux peripheral drivers, firmware, access controls, IPC, and hypervisors (Gunyah, QNX). Leverages advanced Software knowledge and experience to design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs. Availability in key meetings pertinent to the technical discussions. Effectively communicate technical solutions to both internal and external audiences as required. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science/engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field. 6-8 years of software experience in embedded software development for ARM based systems. At the BS level, a minimum of 7 years, at the MS level, 5 years and at the PhD level, 3 years of software architecture experience. SW Development background in Embedded Systems. Good C/C++, Rust etc. programming and analytic skills. Preferred Qualifications

Strong hands-on experience in at least 3 or more areas in Linux kernel, Micro kernels like QNX, Bootloaders, SoC architecture, ARM architecture, SoC/ARM security, Virtualization and Hypervisors, SoC Low-power management frameworks, performance analysis, Device drivers (USB, PCIe, Ethernet, Storage, DDR, UART, I2C, SPI etc.), strong C programming and SoC HW debugging Proficiency in MCU RTOS or AUTOSAR software Self-driven and comfortable spanning software, hardware, system, and commercialization skills. High level of focus on ensuring very successful projects. Proven ability to identify and solve complex engineering problems. Ability to utilize both technical and leadership experience. Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal. Minimum Qualifications (alternative): Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. 4+ years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc. Equal Opportunity
