Quality - Team Lead 2025 (Manufacturing)
Purpose/Scope:
Position monitors production processes of the facility to ensure all products meet company quality and food safety requirements during plant operations to ensure compliance with all company, regulatory, and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordinates the activities of the Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) team for implementation of quality and food safety programs (HACCP and SSOP) and procedures.
Monitor activities to ensure team member safety and accurately report any unsafe acts to prevent workplace safety incidents. Coordinate with the site safety team for annual LOTO training for FSQA team.
Review HACCP, SSOP, and prerequisite records for completeness and correctness.
Complete or verify that all Pre-shipment reviews have been completed as defined in the site HACCP program.
Be responsible for reassessments and changes to the SSOP and HACCP plans when necessary, and assist with HACCP Validations and annual review of programs as directed by QA Manager or HACCP Superintendent.
Maintains good communication and working relationships with the FSQA team, site Operations team and USDA personnel, ensuring that all USDA regulations are being followed.
Interfaces with facility team to assist in problem solving using root cause analyses when investigating daily personnel and processing incidents.
Ensures PPC's customer quality programs are executed and communicates issues to site management team to assure the plant is complying with customer specifications.
Complete additional task as directed by QA Manager or HACCP Superintendent.
Self-motivated, flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment; able to work well with others.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in manner so that their work is done efficiently and cooperatively with coworkers and leadership teams.
Recognizes and acts on incidents of Safety & Food Safety risks. Consistently practices and enforces a food safe work habits and drives those habits throughout the facility.
Able to navigate processing areas and equipment.
Other duties as assigned or by departmental changes.
Essential Skills and Experience
High school or equivalent.
2 years' work experience.
Good communication (both oral and written) and math skills.
Experience in food quality and/or safety.
Physical Demands and Work Requirements
Combination of Sit, Stand, and Walk.
Workable use of both hands and able to grasp.
Good eyesight (with or without corrective lens).
Able to perform repetitive task.
Able to reach, bend, climb, push, pull, and stoup.
Able to lift 50 lbs. in weight.
May be required to work some after hours.
Environmental Conditions
Environment will vary. Office environment is clean and dry with moderate temperature. Processing and outer area environment ranges from dirty to clean, dry to wet and slippery, and hot to cold depending on area of required duties on plant floor and outer areas.
Sound will vary. Office area sound level ranges from light to moderate. Processing and outer area sound level ranges from moderate to loud.
