City Arts and Leadership High School seeks a

Campus Monitor . Reporting to the school Principal, the Campus Monitor maintains a welcoming, respectful and professional presence to ensure a safe and secure school campus.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise students before school, during passing periods, lunch, and after school in hallways, restrooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces

Monitor and support appropriate technology and cell phone use in common areas in alignment with school expectations

Maintain a visible presence to promote student safety and positive behavior

Monitor campus entrances and exits and support visitor check-in procedures

Watch for and report unauthorized individuals or safety concerns

Intervene early to de-escalate conflicts and redirect behavior using restorative and trauma-informed practices

Build positive, respectful relationships with students and support a welcoming school climate

Support students in transitioning to class and remaining in authorized areas during the school day

Communicate effectively with administrators, teachers, and support staff using school communication systems

Complete basic incident reports and documentation as required

Assist with emergency response, safety drills, assemblies, and special eventsIdentify and report campus safety hazards and other concerns to administration

Perform other duties related to student supervision and campus safety as assigned

Qualifications

Associate degree

required

Experience in security, campus supervision, and/or front-desk operations, preferably in a school or youth-serving environment

Understanding of adolescent development and common behavioral characteristics of high school–aged students

Demonstrated ability to work effectively and respectfully with parents and families, including Black, African American, Latine/a/o/x, and immigrant communities

Bilingual Spanish proficiency

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly range of $22-$30/hour dependent upon years of aligned experience.

This is a 40 hours per week position, 11-month role.
