A beautiful, mansion-style Assisted Living & Memory Care community in Essex County, NJ is seeking a Resident Care Director (RCD) to oversee all health and wellness operations. This community has strong overall performance and a long-tenured leadership team, preparing to hire a Wellness Nurse—making an experienced Assisted Living RN leader especially critical at this time.

Who They’re Looking For
Strong knowledge of Assisted Living regulations
Assisted Living workflow, assessment processes, service planning, and daily clinical operations
Ideal Candidates
Current RCD, Wellness Director, or ADON in AL/Memory Care
Strong RN supervisors/managers in an AL or SNF setting ready to take the next step
At least 2 years AL or LTC experience + 1 year management (required)
A great personality and strong leadership presence are important, but the community must have someone who understands Assisted Living operations from day one.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Clinical Oversight (60%)
Lead clinical operations, assessments, care planning, and regulatory compliance
Supervise and mentor the Wellness Nurse + 8–10 clinical team members (RNs & Med Techs)
Manage staffing, scheduling, training, onboarding, and performance coaching
Conduct ongoing quality assurance and clinical improvement initiatives
Manage departmental budget, labor costs, and monthly reporting
Resident Engagement & Direct Care (40%)
Be highly visible and approachable to residents and families
Conduct assessments, ISP creation, and monitor changes in condition
Round with physicians weekly
Coordinate with hospice, therapy, pharmacy, and other vendors
Collaborate daily with caregivers and neighborhood coordinators
Qualifications
RN – New Jersey license (required)
2+ years RN experience in Assisted Living, LTC, or Memory Care
1+ year of leadership/management experience (Supervisor, Manager, ADON, Wellness Nurse, etc.)
Strong understanding of Assisted Living regulations and resident care compliance
CPR & First Aid certification
EMR proficiency and strong organizational skills
Compensation & Benefits
Up to $135K base salary
12–15% annual bonus
Flexibility to negotiate additional PTO if needed
