Medical Physicist – Stereotactic & Therapeutic Imaging
Location: USA - Virginia, Newport News
Experience Required: 1–30 Years
Compensation: USD 250000 - 300000
Visa Status: US Citizens, Green Card holder
Role Overview The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of diverse clinical radiation therapy physics experience and will contribute to treatment planning, quality assurance, equipment oversight, and direct support for SRS/SBRT programs. Candidates with ABR/ABMP certification (or completion of ABR Part 2) are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct physics consultation to attending physicians.
Design treatment plans for stereotactic programs.
Perform patient-specific QA.
Directly supervise all SRS/SBRT simulations and treatments.
Coordinate with neurosurgeons and radiation oncologists on planning goals for SBRT/SRS/Gamma Knife patients.
Perform and/or coordinate quality control activities, equipment maintenance, calibration, and regulatory QA.
Maintain QA standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Conduct QA/testing on Eclipse, Aria, Mosaiq, Varian EDGE linacs, Siemens imaging systems, and Gamma Knife components.
Collaborate closely with physicians, surgeons, staff, and patients.
Deliver routine therapy physics services.

Qualifications
5+ years of clinical radiation therapy physics experience
ABR/ABMP certification (or completion of ABR Part 2)
Strong understanding of state, federal, and professional regulations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Soft Skills
High attention to detail and strong organizational ability
Proven initiative and ownership over tasks/projects
Ability to manage complex patient‑specific scenarios
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
Team‑oriented approach with a willingness to go above and beyond
