Job Overview
Judge Direct Placement is seeking a Controls Engineer for a Fortune 100 company.
This role requires heavy travel.
Pay range: $115,000.00/yr – $120,000.00/yr (actual pay based on skills and experience).
Responsibilities
Troubleshoots all mechanical and electrical issues including PLCs, motion controls, multi‑axis servos, SCADA systems, AC/DC drives, electronics, PLC‑to‑PC interface systems, pneumatics, and photoelectric controls.
Reviews existing processes and recommends innovative methods for improving utilization of the equipment and other resources.
Communicates and reviews operational performance of production equipment and develops solutions to improve productivity.
Develops, maintains, programs, and troubleshoots automation and control system solutions to support production of PLCs and HMIs.
Oversees electrical panel design, layout, and wiring schematics.
Writes equipment specifications & flow charts.
Works cross‑functionally with engineering team to ensure maximum efficiency of production equipment.
Participates in continuous improvement activities by recommending improvements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology.
3+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
PLC/HMI programming & troubleshooting experience required.
Experience with Allen‑Bradley, Siemens S7, and GE Fanuc PLC preferred.
RS Logix & Wonderware software experience preferred.
Ability to work in a high‑paced environment.
