We are currently seeking a

Principal Water/Wastewater Conveyance Engineer

in our San Antonio, TX or Austin, TX office to help us lead a team and grow technical expertise in water/wastewater conveyance design and construction support services. The Principal Water/Wastewater Conveyance Engineer will be a critical member of our team, expected to execute and manage projects, engage in client development, and win exciting, challenging projects throughout the Texas market. Role accountabilities

As a Principal Water/Wastewater Conveyance Engineer, you will manage a diverse portfolio of projects for various clients across the region, coordinating multi-disciplined engineering teams to deliver outstanding results. Responsibilities include: Overseeing project budgets and delivery schedules. Leading project teams to ensure all deliverables are met. Providing technical leadership throughout the planning, design, and construction phases of water and wastewater distribution and collection systems, lift stations and pumping stations. Preparing construction documents, developing specifications, and managing construction oversight and administration. Supporting client development activities, including positioning, capture strategies, and proposal and presentation efforts for Water/Wastewater Conveyance Design projects. Collaboration with Area Leaders and client Account Leaders to define project scopes and fee estimates, manage risks, identify project staff, and ensure profitable delivery. Coordinating with Arcadis’ technical advisors for hydraulic modeling and facility design. Mentoring junior engineers and technical staff and ensuring compliance with Arcadis practices and safety standards. Travel within 10% of the local area for project site visits, client meetings, and business development activities. Key Attributes

The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical engineering background and a proven track record delivering water and wastewater conveyance design projects. They demonstrate success in client development, pursuing proposals, and participating in interviews to secure new projects. They excel at delivering technical presentations, negotiating, managing, and successfully delivering projects with fees of $1 million or more. They are highly organized, detail‑oriented, flexible, and collaborative across local and remote teams. Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualifications

12 or more years of related industry experience in the water/wastewater field. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field. PE License in Texas (or ability to obtain TX PE within 6 months). Preferred Qualifications

20+ years of related industry experience. Master’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field. Why Arcadis?
