The University of Miami UHealth Department of Urology has an exciting opportunity for Post Doctoral Associate in Miami. The incumbent performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Post Doctoral Associate promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community.
Department Specifics This unique postdoctoral role is co‑supported by both laboratories (50:50 funding) and is focused on a completely independent research direction involving the design and synthesis of novel chemical probes for chemical proteomics and cancer epigenetics. The project lies at the interface of organic chemistry, chemical biology, and proteomics research, aiming to develop innovative tools for probing epigenetic regulation in cancer systems. Candidates with strong expertise in synthetic organic chemistry, particularly in constructing complex scaffolds and functional warheads for proteomic enrichment, are especially encouraged to apply.
Core Job Functions
Conduct research on specific areas of study as assigned.
Prepare research reports and technical papers for publishing.
Investigate the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories.
Maintain substantial knowledge of state‑of‑the‑art principles and theories.
Develop advanced analytical models and systems and provide solutions and analyses to support strategic and tactical decisions.
Adhere to University and unit‑level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
Core Qualifications Education: Ph.D. required
Experience: No Prior Experience Required
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes
Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
