Job Summary We are seeking a
Hospital Inpatient Pharmacist
for a
13-week contract
to support clinical and operational pharmacy services within an acute care hospital. The pharmacist will be responsible for safe medication preparation, dispensing, clinical review, and collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams across multiple inpatient service lines.
Key Responsibilities Prepare, compound, and dispense medications accurately and efficiently. Perform
chemotherapy preparation
in accordance with hospital policies and safety standards. Review medication orders for accuracy, dosing, interactions, and contraindications. Provide pharmacological and therapeutic recommendations based on patient age, diagnosis, and pharmacokinetic principles. Resolve formulary and non-formulary medication questions. Monitor medication therapy and document interventions as required. Educate patients on medication use, dosing, side effects, and drug interactions. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals. Float across inpatient units as needed, including: Critical Care / ICU Pediatrics Oncology Transplant Medicine Cardiac Units
Required Qualifications Graduate of an
ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy Active NY State
Pharmacist license Chemotherapy preparation experience (required) Ability to work in a fast-paced inpatient hospital environment Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills
Experience 0–2 years
of experience as a licensed Pharmacist preferred New graduates with strong inpatient or clinical rotations are encouraged to apply
