Senior Quantitative Analyst
into their Houston-based analytics team sitting close to trading, pricing, and portfolio management.
Youll be responsible for building and owning advanced electricity load forecasting models, turning complex market and operational data into insights that directly influence commercial decisions across power trading, risk, and portfolio strategy.
Responsibilities: Lead the development and ongoing improvement of electric load forecasting models used across pricing, risk, and portfolio decisions Deliver daily pre-deal forecast support, ensuring models are reliable, accurate, and production-ready Partner closely with Power Trading, Portfolio Management, Pricing & Structuring, and Costing teams to analyse historical trends, forward curves, and market fundamentals Investigate forecast variances and explain drivers across financial, operational, and market inputs Build scalable analytics tools using
Python, SQL, Docker , and cloud-based infrastructure Design, maintain, and optimise cloud data pipelines across
Azure and AWS
environments Apply advanced statistical and predictive techniques including
machine learning, Bayesian methods, clustering, and decision-tree models Tackle complex analytical problems such as load reconciliation, portfolio stress testing, and budget tracking Contribute to best practices around version control, requirements gathering, and production deployment
Requirements Bachelors degree in a quantitative discipline (Maths, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Physics, or similar) Strong programming capability in
Python , with working knowledge of
SQL
and
R Experience building APIs, production-grade analytics tools, and automated workflows Solid grounding in statistical modelling, forecasting, and machine learning techniques Strong understanding of
power markets , including electricity trading, pricing, portfolio/risk management, and generation fundamentals
