TalentoHC is actively partnered with a global travel & leisure organization actively seeking a Senior Accountant on a 6+ month contract to join their team.
Job Summary Responsible for applying accounting principles across all general ledger functions, analyzing financial data, preparing timely reports, and maintaining strong accounting controls and compliance.
Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare complex journal entries, accruals, and month‑end close activities.
Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations from staff accountants.
Develop financial schedules and reports for management.
Perform financial analyses, including variance explanations and quarterly analytics.
Complete advanced account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and accounting procedures.
Analyze transactions for accuracy and prepare correcting entries when needed.
Support audits and maintain SOX compliance for assigned areas.
Provide insights on financial trends and recommend policy or process improvements.
Partner with Business Intelligence to enhance reporting tools.
Monitor and maintain accounting controls and provide departmental guidance.
Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
4+ years of corporate accounting experience or 2 years of public accounting
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of GAAP and auditing practices
Experience with financial systems, budgeting, reporting, and analysis
Advanced Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Office
High attention to detail; strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Organizational and supervisory skills
