A well‑funded, fast‑growing biotech with a progressive and differentiated biologics pipeline is seeking an accomplished Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to lead its clinical development organization. Backed by top‑tier investors and already engaged with leading global biopharma partners, the company is entering a critical stage as multiple programs progress toward the clinic.
They are looking for a physician with deep expertise in
autoimmune and immune‑mediated diseases . You will build the clinical development function from the ground up. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role where you will define clinical strategy, guide regulatory planning, and ensure flawless execution of early‑stage trials.
You will help shape how a cutting‑edge biologics pipeline is translated into meaningful patient outcomes, supported by strong capital backing and an experienced R&D leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
Define and execute clinical development strategies across internal and partnered biologics programs
Lead IND planning, regulatory interactions, and early‑phase development strategy
Oversee all aspects of clinical trial execution through CROs, building internal capabilities over time
Build and lead the clinical development organization
Serve as the clinical and medical expert internally and externally
Contribute to broader portfolio strategy and translational planning
Requirements
MD or MD/PhD with Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Rheumatology, Immunology, or a closely related specialty
Deep experience in autoimmune / immune‑mediated diseases , ideally with biologics development
10+ years in clinical development roles, including IND‑enabling work and early‑phase trials
Experience overseeing CROs and building cross‑functional clinical teams
Strategic thinker with a hands‑on mindset and comfort operating in a fast‑moving, growing organization
U.S.-based with ability to travel
