The CFO will serve as the senior financial leader of the platform, responsible for financial performance, reporting rigor, capital allocation, and scalable infrastructure to support acquisition‑driven growth.

The private equity sponsor is targeting a future liquidity event. This role requires a hands‑on, execution‑oriented CFO with deep experience in PE‑backed, field‑based service businesses and a proven ability to scale finance functions while driving EBITDA growth, cash flow improvement, and exit readiness.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the senior financial executive, accountable for financial strategy, performance management, and execution of the value‑creation plan.

Partner closely with the CEO, PE sponsor, and Board on strategic planning, capital allocation, leverage management, and return optimization.

Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, long‑range planning, and monthly performance reviews focused on EBITDA growth, margin expansion, and cash flow.

Partner with operations leadership to track synergy realization and post‑close performance.

Operational Finance & Scalability

Drive financial standardization across operating companies, including job costing, pricing analytics, backlog management, and working capital optimization.

Improve gross margin visibility through enhanced cost tracking, labor analytics, and project/service profitability reporting.

Lead implementation and optimization of core financial systems (ERP, reporting, FP&A tools) to support multi‑location growth.

Establish KPIs and dashboards covering revenue growth, margins, cash flow, working capital, and return on invested capital.

Own liquidity management, forecasting, and lender relationships.

Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance to support institutional‑quality reporting.

Oversee audit, tax strategy, and external advisor relationships.

Ensure financial risk management across insurance, bonding, and contractual exposure where applicable.

Leadership & Organization Building

Build and lead a high‑performing finance organization, including accounting, FP&A, treasury, and integration resources.

Develop talent and succession plans at both the platform and operating company levels.

Foster a performance‑driven culture emphasizing accountability, data‑driven decision‑making, and continuous improvement.

Exit Readiness

Prepare the organization for a successful private equity exit through strong reporting, forecasting accuracy, controls, and scalable financial infrastructure.

Partner with advisors on exit preparation, diligence readiness, and equity story development.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance leader within a PE‑backed, multi‑location HVAC, construction, home services, or field‑based services business.

Demonstrated success supporting acquisitions, integrations, and exit processes.

Strong track record driving EBITDA growth, margin improvement, and cash flow optimization.

Deep understanding of job costing, pricing strategy, labor economics, working capital, and field operations finance.
