Job Responsibilities

Responsible for overall classification services at Palmer Pre-Release Center.

Supervise community program supervisors responsible for classification services.

Responsible for job recruitment, assignment and monitoring of work program jobs.

Coordinate and participate in institutional orientation programs.

Ensure inmates are employed and details are adequately staffed.

Conduct periodic reviews of inmate progress.

Gather information pertaining to inmates' social, criminal, educational and family history.

Conduct oral and/or written responses to requests for information concerning inmate status and input into automated system.

Responsible for job site visits and monitoring of inmates assigned to labor crews, work programs and medical furlough.

Perform other related duties as required.

Training Requirements Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

A bachelor’s degree and related experience.

Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of inmate classification experience.

An associate's degree and two (2) years of inmate classification experience.

A high school diploma and four (4) years of inmate classification experience.
