Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Theatre Facilities Supervisor, organize, coordinate, train, oversee, and perform skilled work in the operation and maintenance of the Performing Arts Theatres and Auditoriums at Schools in the District. Operate technical equipment and systems in Performing Arts Theatres and School Auditoriums. Perform a broad range of technical duties and support functions related to the production of performances and events, and the utilization of the Theatre facilities by students, staff, and the public. Provide technical assistance and support to various users, maintain and repair a variety of theatrical and audiovisual equipment. Be able to work a flexible workweek. Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent, plus any combination equivalent to two years of college‑level coursework in Theatre Technology, Fine Arts, or related field, and three years working in Theatre Production or related field.
Experience covering a wide range of duties in Technical Theatre work (lighting, audio, carpentry, projection, electrical, electronic, and other effects).
Experience supervising volunteers, interns, or students is preferred.
Ability to work a flexible workweek.
Responsibilities:
Prepare light, audio, and other production systems for events, interpret requirements and resolve problems to ensure successful presentations.
Provide and/or supervise technical support to users of the facilities.
Train and supervise students, staff, and community volunteers in the technical utilization of the facilities.
Work directly with performing arts departments to create performances that meet the vision of the teachers.
