Armed Protective Security Officers (PSO) – Washington, D.C.

BTI Security invites applications for Armed Protective Security Officers (PSO) to protect federal facilities in Washington, D.C. The role is open to individuals aged 21 or older who are U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents with an honorable discharge, who possess a valid Social Security Card, and who have at least two (2) years of armed security experience or one (1) year full‑service police experience in a full‑service police department. Responsibilities

Protect the principal against possible threats. Federal building access control, employee and visitor identification checks, security equipment monitoring, roving patrols of the interior and exterior of federal property. Monitor surveillance cameras for any disruptions or unlawful activities. Provide detailed reports on daily activities and/or incidents that may have occurred. Knowably and effectively use magnetometer and X‑ray machines. Use provided communication devices, such as two‑way radios, in a clear and concise manner. Leverage excellent listening and service skills in emergency response and evaluation procedures. Perform CPR or first aid when needed. Ensure credentials are maintained per contract requirements. Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Project Manager. Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years of age. Be a United States citizen or a lawful permanent resident who is a member of, or who possesses a verifiable honorable discharge from, any component of the U.S. armed forces. Been issued a Social Security Card by the Social Security Administration. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in armed security or one (1) year of law enforcement experience in a full‑service police department. A minimum of two (2) years as a member of any U.S. armed forces with an honorable discharge. Fluently speak, read, and comprehend English and be able to compose written reports in English. Must be able to qualify with a revolver or semi‑automatic. Strong relevant knowledge of the security industry. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have a customer‑service‑driven mindset. Physical Demands

Perform frequent and prolonged walking, standing, sitting, and stooping up to 12 hours per day. Remain on post for up to four (4) consecutive hours without sitting, eating, or receiving a break. Remain alert for up to 12 hours and react quickly to a variety of unexpected and dangerous situations. Subdue violent or potentially violent or disturbed individuals or intervene in a crisis. Occasional running, sprinting, lifting heavy weights, moving heavy objects, climbing stairs. Certifications and Training
