$45,000 per year.

Job Summary The Resident Director assumes direct responsibility for the operation of University‑managed housing. As a live‑in administrator, the Resident Director is the primary leadership role of the residential facility, promoting a living‑learning environment conducive to student academic success and personal growth. This position reflects the philosophy of the Office of Residence Life & Housing and supports the mission of Morgan State University.

Responsibilities

Promote and establish a living‑learning environment for student academic success and personal growth.

Manage and supervise the regulation of the residential facility.

Assist with planning and policy formation.

Follow up on all issues involving students and staff members.

Maintain appropriate documentation, records, and file integrity.

Submit weekly operation reports.

Develop agendas and conduct weekly staff meetings.

Education Requirements Successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Higher Education Administration or a related field from an accredited institution.

Experience Requirements Related experience working with student personnel and counseling is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience as a Resident Director.

Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills.

Events management experience.

Flexibility with non‑traditional work hours.

Knowledge of student development theory and related theories.

Ability to balance the needs of a hall facility, students, and student staff.

One (1) year of professional or graduate experience in housing, residence life, or residential education.

Seniority Level Mid‑Senior Level.
