CONTROLLER Pittsburgh, PA (Hybrid) $105,000- $120,000 A well-established industrial services organization with a strong national presence is seeking a Controller to support its growing operations in the Pittsburgh region. The Controller will oversee all accounting and financial processes, partner closely with operational leadership, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who enjoys both analytical work and operational engagement. OVERVIEW OF THE CONTROLLER ROLE: Lead month-end and year-end close processes Prepare and review financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting Conduct capital expenditure forecasting and tracking Support annual audits and compliance projects Perform financial statement variance analysis Oversee monthly physical inventory cycles and prepare reconciliations Monitor transaction activity and identify issues such as obsolete or slow-moving inventory Coordinate annual physical inventory planning and reconciliation Prepare ad hoc financial and operational analyses for senior leadership Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and improve processes Provide labor trend insights for pricing, proposals, and operational planning Work with the General Manager and leadership team to deliver business intelligence Develop and monitor KPIs aligned with strategic goals Maintain documented financial and operational policies and procedures Contribute to ongoing risk mitigation efforts PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE CONTROLLER: Bachelor's degree (Accounting, Finance, or related field required); advanced degree preferred. 2-4+ years of experience in financial management or corporate accounting. Strong understanding of GAAP, revenue recognition, and standard accounting practices. Experience in contractor, service, or mechanical/industrial environments is a plus. Knowledge of inventory management, job costing, fixed assets, payroll, A/R, A/P, and general ledger processes.
