Associate Cardiovascular Sales Representative – San Francisco (Surgical Structural Heart)

At Edwards, the Associate Sales Rep plays a critical role in improving patients’ lives every day. They educate health‑care professionals on the proper use of our products and provide invaluable support to the entire sales team. Ideal candidates possess strong interpersonal skills, determination to provide the best possible experience to customers and coworkers, excellent performance, and a willingness to teach and learn.
This position requires travel throughout San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Cruz, Silicon Valley, Sacramento, and Reno. We highly prefer candidates based in San Francisco, East Bay, Walnut Creek, Oakland, San Jose, Fremont, or surrounding areas. The selected candidate must reside in the local region.
How you'll make an impact
Successfully complete all required product and sales‑related training curriculum.
Be fully knowledgeable about the anatomy and capable of effectively explaining complex concepts after the completion of sales training.
Possess a competitive spirit and place a high value on ethical standards related to surgical procedures and patient outcomes.
Demonstrate excellent communication, negotiation, and selling skills.
Support inventory management.
Educate healthcare providers—including surgeons—in clinic and hospital settings on the safe and proper use of our products.
Identify selling opportunities and work closely with sales representatives to increase sales in their respective accounts.
Develop and execute regional business plans to achieve quotas for assigned products, which may include cold calling to develop new customers, qualifying and following up on leads, and selling to new and/or existing accounts.
Thrive in an environment of variety and rapid growth & change.
Be able to work with deadlines, frequent assignment changes, periodic heavy workload, rapidly changing technology, and dynamic business growth.
Work independently with a high degree of accountability.
Attend and participate in sales meetings, training programs, conventions, and trade shows as needed.
Adhere to company policies and conduct all business in an ethical manner.
Required qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of three (3) years of operating room (OR) based medical device sales, or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria.
A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Willingness to travel within the defined region.
Preferred qualifications
Willingness to relocate if/when the opportunity arises.
Good knowledge of MS Office Suite.
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal relationship skills, including consultative and relationship management skills.
Good problem‑solving and critical thinking skills.
Understanding of cardiovascular anatomy, pathology, and physiology relevant to Edwards medical products.
Ability to build strong relationships and interact with surgeons and healthcare professionals on a regular basis.

For California, the base pay range for this position is $87,000 to $102,000 (for highly experienced candidates).
