Starting Salary: $121,668 to $137,532
Location: Central Office, 1615 W. Chicago Ave
Days: Mon‑Fri
Hours: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Essential Duties
Directly supervise a work unit overseeing individual components of the Plan to End Homelessness, ensuring strategic policies effectively implemented and objectives met.
Guide development of programs and initiatives to effectively address issues and combat problems facing the City’s homeless population.
Participate in planning and development of programs designed to prevent and end homelessness (e.g., temporary housing, permanent supportive housing).
Evaluate effectiveness and provide guidance on performance improvement strategies for the department’s homeless programs and services, ensuring alignment with local and national guidelines and standards.
Provide management oversight in awarding contracts and allocating funds to delegate agencies, ensuring funds are disbursed appropriately.
Confere with executive-level staff at departmental level and the Mayor’s Office to report progress and performance of programs under the comprehensive Plan.
Monitor and analyze statistical data to identify trends and implement performance and service standards.
Serve as collaborative partner with key stakeholders to develop systematic response efforts relative to homelessness issues.
Represent the department in meetings, planning groups, task force initiatives and work groups to discuss policies, programs and services.
Review and evaluate proposed federal and state legislation impacting the homelessness agenda and prepare reports on the city’s position and recommended policy changes.
Keep abreast of new or emerging initiatives and best practices; recommend changes to departmental policies and procedures as appropriate.
Identify and research specific problems and areas of opportunity; make recommendations to ensure program and operational efficiency.
Respond to inquiries and comments regarding program concerns.
Evaluate performance of subordinate staff and make recommendations for disciplinary action.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in the Social Sciences, Human Services, Planning, Business, Public Administration, or directly related field; five years of experience in planning and administration of a social service program, of which three years in a management/supervisory role, OR
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree or higher in the same fields; four years of experience in planning and administration of a social service program, of which three years in a management/supervisory role.
Licensure, Certification, or Other Qualifications N/A
