Engineering Manager – Heavy Equipment Design
Location:
Toledo, OH
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
7+ years of experience in heavy equipment design
3+ years of leadership or people management experience
Strong proficiency with CAD software and engineering analysis tools
Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex projects
Solid knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, and applicable engineering/safety standards
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop engineering staff, supervisors, fabricators, and installers
Foster a collaborative, high‑performance, and safety‑focused work environment
Allocate resources and manage priorities to meet operational and project goals
Oversee the design, specification, and modernization of heavy equipment
Ensure all designs meet regulatory standards (OSHA, ANSI, etc.)
Manage full lifecycle projects including fabrication, installation, and upgrades
Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams for smooth execution
Partner with the Sales Manager to review completed projects and improve quoting accuracy, design efficiency, and installation outcomes
Develop preventive maintenance programs
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement reliability best practices to reduce downtime
Drive continuous improvement in heavy equipment design, automation, and process efficiency
