Job Summary Independently carries out a broad range of technically advanced research activities and procedures related to cancer drug policy. Conceives of and designs experiments, evaluates conclusions, and has complete latitude to modify or devise methods and techniques as necessary to achieve desired results related to cancer drug policy. May supervise technical and administrative elements of research unit related to cancer drug policy.

Responsibilities

Function as a skilled scientific specialist for the research unit or for a specific research project related to cancer drug policy.

Conduct broad range of experiments or computational analyses involving advanced technology/strategies related to cancer drug policy; conceive objectives, design protocols or analyses, generate, analyze and evaluate experimental data, interpret results.

Write and edit material for publication; may present papers or appear as principal or secondary author in publications related to cancer drug policy.

Provide direct supervision to technical and support personnel as assigned related to cancer drug policy.

Provide instruction in laboratory or computational techniques and methodology to students and postdoctoral fellows related to cancer drug policy.

Perform other duties as assigned related to cancer drug policy.

Comply with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

Education:

Doctorate in a related field (required).

Experience:

5‑7 years in an academic or laboratory research setting (required). No experience in lieu of a degree accepted.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Proficiency in supply chain and vendor management.

Ability to identify problems and troubleshoot solutions.

Well-versed in laboratory standards and practices.

Good organizational skills, detail-oriented.

Computer literacy.

Ability to methodically record data.

Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Broad knowledge of scientific principles, biological structures, and laboratory techniques.
