Senior Design Engineer
Our client is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to support an existing aircraft design at PDR maturity and help evolve a next-generation aircraft concept. This role focuses on design refresh, analysis, and compliance rather than heavy drawing production.
Base Pay Range $50.00/hr - $55.00/hr
Work Model Onsite / Hybrid (no fully remote)
Citizenship U.S. Citizen (CUI environment; no clearance required)
Other Locations Considered Wichita, KS; Dayton, OH; Plano, TX
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Senior-level aerospace engineering experience (Level 3 or higher)
Aircraft system or subsystem design experience at the PDR level
Proficiency with CATIA V5 for model access and assessment
Experience performing engineering analysis using existing models and data
Expertise in one or more areas: structures, stress, aerodynamics, systems integration, propulsion, hydraulics, landing gear, or weight & balance
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Strong technical communication skills
Key Responsibilities
Review and update existing aircraft designs to meet new requirements
Participate in design and requirements reviews
Ensure compliance and clearly document design rationale and trade studies
Support proposal and technical documentation as needed
Tools
CATIA V5 (required)
MATLAB and standard aerospace engineering tools
Location & Travel
Travel to Colorado required for onboarding; additional travel as needed
Approved travel expenses covered

Minimal drawing production through 2027
