About the Position We are seeking an experienced Elder Law & Estate Planning Attorney with deep expertise in Medicaid Planning, asset protection, and long-term care strategies. As our population ages, the need for compassionate and sophisticated elder law guidance continues to grow, making this a critical role within our firm.
The ideal candidate is someone who excels at helping seniors and their families navigate complex financial, medical, and legal decisions, while also possessing a strong foundation in traditional estate planning and probate matters.
Key areas of emphasis include:
Asset protection and long-term care strategies
Wills & Trusts
Probate and estate administration
Responsibilities
Advise clients and their families on Medicaid eligibility, long-term care planning, and asset protection strategies
Develop and implement comprehensive elder law plans
Prepare and update wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advanced healthcare directives
Represent clients throughout the probate and estate administration process
Provide compassionate, clear guidance to seniors and their caregivers
Build and maintain strong client relationships in a practice area that values trust and continuity
Stay current on state and federal elder law regulations, Medicaid rules, and policy changes
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in Maryland
Minimum 7 years of experience in elder law, Medicaid planning, estate planning, and probate
Strong understanding of Medicaid eligibility rules, spend-down strategies, and long-term care planning
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive client situations with empathy and professionalism
Portable book of business preferred but not required
Competitive salary range of $100,000–$175,000, depending on experience and book of business
