Syntax Talent Solutions is growing and is looking for a Tax Director near Hoffman Estates, IL. The ideal candidate will oversee the company's tax planning, compliance, and reporting functions, requiring deep knowledge of private client services federal, state, and local tax regulations and the ability to manage complex tax issues for high‑net‑worth individuals.
Base pay range $150,000.00 per year – $300,000.00 per year
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize tax positions and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
Oversee the preparation and review of all tax returns and related documentation.
Manage tax audits and resolve any tax‑related disputes.
Provide guidance on the tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including finance, legal, and external auditors.
Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the organization.
Lead and develop a high‑performing tax team.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or Master's in Taxation preferred.
Minimum of 8‑10 years of experience in tax, with a focus on corporate tax.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience in a public accounting firm or a multinational corporation.
Proven track record of managing tax audits and complex tax issues.
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
