Key Responsibilities

Meet with and provide advice to clients in a variety of industries on export compliance matters.

Lead and manage client projects including export classifications, audits, reviews, program development, and training.

Support market development and thought leadership initiatives by researching, writing, and reviewing export‑compliance advice.

Manage project engagement, assembling teams, overseeing work, and taking full engagement responsibilities.

Aid in the management, career development, and training of team members.

Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG’s respectful and courteous work environment.

Additional Responsibility for Senior Manager

Oversee market, practice, and business development.

Qualifications

Minimum five years of recent direct consulting experience in export compliance such as EAR and ITAR, including duties related to deemed exports, export jurisdiction, product classification, licenses, technology control plans, consent agreements, brokering, congressional notification, de minimis guidelines, and sustainable compliance program development. Favorable experience in a leading tax/advisory or trade law firm.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Preferable to hold a credential such as CBL, CUSICO, Export Compliance Professional, Certified Sanctions Specialist, Customs Specialist, CPA, ENR AGT, JD/LLM, or MBA. Candidates lacking a required credential must acquire one within one year of employment.

Exceptional and in‑depth experience with U.S. export‑control regulations with the ability to deliver practical advice and solutions for complex matters.

Experience in general export‑control and sanctions, including compliance audits/reviews, voluntary self‑disclosures, advisory opinions, classification, and trade‑compliance frameworks.

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with strong technical acumen, including the ability to conduct in‑depth data reviews using analytics.

Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Additional Qualifications for Senior Manager

Minimum eight years of recent direct consulting experience in export compliance such as EAR and ITAR, with a proven track record in client development and management.
