The Enrollment Services team at San Diego State University (SDSU) shapes the academic journey of every student, from their first point of interest through graduation. This role leads recruitment, admissions, and registration operations at our SDSU Imperial Valley campus, expanding access to higher education and supporting student success in California’s dynamic and diverse region.

What You'll Do

Lead and develop staff overseeing admissions, recruitment, and registrar operations.

Design and implement strategic recruitment plans that increase access and attract students from Imperial County and beyond.

Collaborate with campus and community partners to promote SDSU‑IV’s academic programs and student opportunities.

Oversee admissions operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in application processing, transcript review, and communication with applicants.

Monitor enrollment trends and coordinate with academic leadership to align course availability with student demand.

Manage budgets, staffing, and resource allocation to support enrollment goals.

Represent SDSU‑IV at community events, college fairs, and outreach programs as an ambassador for the university’s mission and values.

Position Information

Full‑time, at‑will position with comprehensive benefits.

Exempt under FLSA; not eligible for overtime compensation.

Standard SDSU work hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with possible variation for operational needs.

Work on campus at SDSU Imperial Valley with occasional travel to SDSU Main campus in San Diego.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in higher education, enrollment management, and/or college admissions.

Experience advising or counseling diverse, underrepresented, and first‑generation students is highly desirable.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills.

Experience managing staff and overseeing operations in a complex or collective bargaining environment.

Demonstrated experience developing and implementing policies, procedures, and training programs.

Key Qualifications

Strong leadership to manage a highly visible and critical unit in a service‑oriented department.

Ability to analyze data and evaluate enrollment trends to inform recruitment and admissions strategies.

Excellent communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.

Knowledge of organizational structures, university systems, and enrollment policies, preferably within the CSU or SDSU.

Experience using student information systems, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office/Google applications preferred.

Strong customer service orientation and problem‑solving abilities.

Ability to travel and work evenings or weekends to support recruitment and outreach activities.

Deep knowledge of Imperial County demographics and educational trends is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits The expected hiring range is $80,000 – $96,000 annually. Benefit package includes:

15 paid holidays, 24 vacation days, and 12 sick days per year.
