Base pay range $80,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr

The SDAHO Director of Business Development is a member of the South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations leadership team, and is responsible for the Enterprises Partner Solutions Program to drive value through connecting health care organizations in South Dakota with a wide array of highly respected companies that deliver outstanding value, benefits and overall satisfaction to our members. The director will focus on partnerships and business development of products, services and programs to bring in non‑dues revenue for SDAHO and identify vendors/sponsors for association education and events. The director will work collaboratively with the SDAHO leadership team to oversee this for‑profit division of the association.
Primary Responsibilities
Manages and oversees Enterprise Business Development/Partner Solutions program.
Facilitate the SDAHO Enterprise Board meetings.
Plan and facilitate the annual SDAHO Enterprises Sunrise Classic Golf Event.
Establish and implement the vision and development of new shared services for SDAHO members.
Direct all sales, marketing and communication efforts for Business Development products/services.
Manage business partnerships for all Business Development products/services, including vendors and sponsors.
Maintain relationships with SDAHO members.
Research trends and develop new sales opportunities to increase revenue for SDAHO Enterprise.
Maintain strong understanding of healthcare member needs, challenges, and priorities.
Organize events to cultivate prospects, network and build relationships.
Work closely with the SDAHO VP of Education and Communication and VP Post‑Acute Care to fund programs and add value to the SDAHO members.
Work with the SDAHO Association Management tool to enhance business development.
Travel to state and national events (15%).
Travel to member facilities (15%).
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, communications, business or related field.
Proven experience in the healthcare industry.
Experience with business management and/or start‑ups is a plus.
Experience with vendor relations or supply chain a plus.
Professional presence and outstanding communication and presentation skills.
Expert understanding of the healthcare industry and needs of hospitals and post‑acute care providers.
Excellent interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships with a diverse population.
Passion for working in a growth‑oriented field, with the ability to demonstrate personal commitment and drive to set and exceed high standards.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Proficient in use of a customer relations management tool.
