Director of Business Development Our client, a Minneapolis-based communications and creative organization, is seeking a Director of Business Development to lead growth and help expand their impact. The Director of Business Development will play a key role in advancing this mission, connecting with the right partners, nurturing relationships, and stewarding a sales process that reflects these values at every stage.
In this role, you will lead the organization’s growth strategy by building a strong, healthy pipeline; cultivating authentic relationships; and elevating the story and services of a team known for creativity, clarity, and meaningful client impact. You’ll represent the organization in the community, identify aligned opportunities, and guide prospects through a thoughtful and well-structured process.
This role is ideal for someone who is both strategic and hands‑on. Someone who thrives in conversations, builds trust quickly, and enjoys finding clarity in complex situations. You understand how to connect mission‑driven work with the right audiences and how to move opportunities forward with discipline, empathy, and insight.
What You Bring
Strong relationship‑building and communication skills
Experience in business development, donor advancement, sales, or marketing
Proven ability to manage a pipeline, convert opportunities, and articulate value
A values‑driven approach that reinforces trust and collaboration
Comfort representing a creative, purpose‑driven organization in a variety of spaces
Preferred
Experience in nonprofit, creative agency, or mission‑oriented environments
Familiarity with the EOS/Traction model
Existing network within the Minneapolis–St. Paul business or nonprofit community
