Job Summary We are seeking an Application Specialist focused on Solid Round and Insert Cutting Tools. A successful representative will manage accounts and generate new opportunities for the organization by understanding customers' needs in metalworking, educating customers, prospects, and distributors on GWS Tool Group products and capabilities, and effectively communicating customer needs back to the team.
Responsibilities
Schedule appointments and meet existing customers to review their applications and product requirements and identify opportunities.
Plan and conduct sales presentations by meeting customers in person on a daily basis.
Serve as liaison between the company and customers for up‑to‑date pricing, service, and new product launches.
Generate and develop prospect accounts to increase revenue through partnership with the distribution chain.
Continuously update all customers on product modifications, changes, and enhancements.
Enhance up‑to‑date knowledge on new products, procedures, services, and tools by attending departmental and training meetings.
Maintain professionalism, diplomacy, sensitivity, and tact to portray the company positively.
Attend conferences, trade shows, and other external events.
Use marketing data to maximize sales effectiveness and efficiency with relevant sales‑management tools.
Organize joint sales calls and attend them with distributors.
Prepare reports for sales and marketing and maintain expense accounts.
Update and maintain customer account information including contact names and numbers.
Provide product quotes to customers with the support of inside sales.
Ensure follow‑up after passing leads to managers with complete customer profiles, calls‑to‑action, sources, and dates.
Qualifications and Experience
1–3 years of strong manufacturing background focused on milling, turning, and grooving.
Knowledgeable in tooling and manufacturing processes.
Ability to assist customers with part processing and correct tool application.
Experience with high‑volume job shops.
Assisting customers with proper speeds and feeds for various materials.
Experience designing special tools is highly regarded.
Experience processing customer parts from drawing to finished product.
Account management experience with current customers.
Proven ability to develop new customers.
Degree in sales, marketing, or a related field is highly regarded.

Ability to prospect new accounts.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Must be able to travel, including 50% travel.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
