A growing boutique firm in downtown San Diego seeks a litigation-minded associate attorney to join its trust, probate, and estate litigation team. You'll work on high-stakes disputes involving financial elder abuse, contested accountings, and trust administration, with direct partner mentorship and a clear growth path.
Base Pay Range $135,000 - $155,000 per year
Key Responsibilities
Draft and argue motions, oppositions, and discovery pleadings.
Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
Manage written discovery and coordinate document productions.
Collaborate with partners on case strategy and trial preparation.
Appear for hearings, mediations, and occasional trials in probate and civil court.
Qualifications
J.D. and active California Bar in good standing.
1+ years litigation experience (trust & estate or civil litigation preferred).
Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a team environment.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $135,000-$155,000 DOE
Bonuses: Merit-based, tied to billings and collections.
Benefits: Health, dental, vision; PTO and firm holidays (benefits commence after probation).
Additional: Two-week sabbatical every December (outside PTO).
Billable Target: ~1,500 hours annually.
