Introduction Delaware's Attorney General, the State's chief law enforcement officer, has a broad responsibility to combat crime, uphold civil rights, safeguard families, fight fraud, and protect consumers in the First State. In meeting this mission, Attorney General Kathy Jennings is supported by teams of talented lawyers and staff in the Criminal, Civil, Family, Fraud and Consumer Protection, and Civil Rights and Public Trust Divisions. Each of the more than 500 staff who work in the Office of the Attorney General are dedicated to serving all Delawareans with integrity and passion.

Summary Statement The Delaware Department of Justice is seeking an exceptional and highly motivated individual to join the Investor Protection Unit in the Fraud & Consumer Protection Division in the New Castle County office as a Casual/Seasonal Deputy Attorney General. This Deputy Attorney General will be part of the team responsible for enforcing the provisions of the Delaware Securities Act (6 Del. C. ch. 73), which regulates the offer and sale of securities and the activities of investment professionals in the State of Delaware. The Unit investigates and prosecutes (administratively, civilly, and criminally) violations of the Act and administers provisions relating to the registration and licensing of securities and investment professionals. This is a challenging position that provides an opportunity to pursue large and complex investigations and cases against some of the best attorneys in the country, while collaborating with colleagues from across North America on large‑scale matters.

Position: Casual/Seasonal, non‑pension eligible, no healthcare or other benefits.

Approved for up to 37.5 hours per week with flexible telework opportunities; eligible to work remotely up to three days per week.

Career Ladder Pay Grade 12 DAG I: $40.77/min to $44.85/max per hour

Pay Grade 14 DAG II: $47.31/min to $49.62/max per hour

Pay Grade 16 DAG III: $52.25/min to $53.40/max per hour

Pay Grade 18 DAG IV: $57.44/min to $60.22/max per hour

Pay Grade 20 DAG V: $64.55/min to $69.30/max per hour

Job Requirements

Juris Doctor degree required.

Admission to the Delaware Bar, or willingness to sit for the next available Delaware Bar Exam.

Solid academic achievement and relevant work experience.

Familiarity with securities transactions and financial services.

Strong commitment to serving the public interest.

This position is a classification organized under an exclusive bargaining representative (labor organization) and is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
